Silverton Falls

Kaylee

Such a short hike, but if you are looking to see a waterfall without much effort and with less people milling around than Johnston Canyon then Silverton Falls is a simple why not. It does not take long to get up to the falls and since the trail doesn’t lead anywhere else, it stops at a small and simple flat area that is situated about halfway up the waterfall which is cascading down the side of the opposing cliff. The area is quiet, secluded, and a quick stop along our hiking adventures.

This is a nice short hike that's kind of out of the way of the busyness of some of the other hikes. Since it is further out of the way, I would do this hike if you're up by Lake Louise/Moraine Lake just as a little side adventure.  Keegan came along for this hike with me and it took us next to no time to complete.  There is another trail you can venture on towards a different hike, but if you want a short adventure with a great view of the falls, then this one is a good choice.  Who doesn't love a good waterfall?

Silverton Falls is a beautiful little waterfall tucked away in the rocks after a beautiful hike through the lush forest along a steady stream. Keegan, Kaylee, Kassy, and I enjoyed talking, laughing, and playing around as we walked. The area is quiet and this hike is super simple and not difficult at all. The trail up to the falls narrows so that we had to walk in a single-file line for a bit but it set us up for a good selfie! Once we got to the falls, there was a bit of a cliff that you can jump on to so that you can get a close up view of the flowing water. It was refreshing to have the breeze spray water mist on to my face and it was fun climbing back up the little cliff to begin the easy trek back down.
